Immigration: What We Know, What We Expect, and How Employers Can Prepare

Immigration law and policy can be particularly complex under normal circumstances. With the flurry of activity in this area from the current administration, this presentation aims to take a close look at those changes and what employers must or should do in response. The presentation will begin with a look at common immigration statuses in the workplace and background on basic immigration processes. It will then examine recent and expected changes and recommendations to employers.

Key Objectives

1. Understand the common immigration statuses that businesses typically see in their workforce and the basic requirements and obligations of the employer with respect to those statuses. 2. Understand what changes have occurred to date since January 20, 2025 in immigration law and policy in the U.S. 3. Understand what employers must do or can do in response to these changes and expected future changes
