DOL/NLRA Updates

This session will explore what issues the DOL and NLRA are prioritizing currently,as well as recent NLRB decisions/guidance that might be relevant to union and non-union employers, recent court decisions. In addition, we'll review DOL guidance that might be relevant to employers, and what common mistakes the agencies see employers make.

Key Objectives

1. Gain insight on policies and practices that should be implemented in the workplace based on the changing legal landscape. 2. Learn best practices for handling day-to-day employment issues in the workplace. 3. Obtain knowledge about processes for agency investigations.

Stacia Campbell has worked for the National Labor Relations Board for 21 years. She is currently the Resident Officer for the Little Rock Resident Office, which is part of region 15 New Orleans. She graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2003 with a Degree in Human Resources and Industrial Labor Relations.

Wage and Hour Investigator (WHI) at Wage and Hour Division (WHD)

WHI Roper studied International Relations in Mexico. She moved to the U.S. in 2014 and enrolled in UA Little Rock in 2016. She double majored in 2019 in International Studies and Political Science. Prior to joining WHD, she worked at the Mexican Consulate in Little Rock and was the Director of El Zócalo, a non-profit organization that serves the Hispanic community in Central Arkansas. She has conducted investigations with provisions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Nursing Mothers, §14c, §15(a)(3), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Davis-Bacon Act (DBA), the Service Contract Act (SCA), the Immigration and Nationality Act §101(a)(15)(H)(ii)(a) and (H)(ii)(b), and others. Rosalinda and her husband enjoy taking care of their peacocks, chickens, and eight puppies under the strict supervision of Dr. Tulio, their cat. Rosalinda enjoys teaching ESL classes, volunteering in the community, preparing games for family gatherings to see her nieces and nephews happy.

Daveante Jones is a Labor and Employment Partner at Wright Lindsey & Jennings in Little Rock, AR. His practice focuses on helping employers navigate day-to-day employment issues related to discipline, leaves and accommodations, administration of other workplace policies as well as managing investigations and lawsuits that may arise. He also keeps employers educated by regularly writing articles and speaking at events on relevant and timely topics covering employment issues ranging from the intersection of the ADA and FMLA, to wage and hour issues, to trade secrets, to National Labor Relations Act issues, to remote work.
