Emily M. Dickens, J.D.
Chief Administrative Officer at SHRM
Emily M. Dickens, J.D., is recognized by the National Institute for Lobbying & Ethics for her leadership in shaping workplace and workforce policy. As Chief Administrative Officer for SHRM, she oversees governance, global policy, legal, real estate, and philanthropy, and advises SHRM’s CEO and Board. She is a recognized expert on workplace issues with media appearances on CBS News, the Wall Street Journal, and CNBC. She has testified before Congress and the EEOC on AI, gender bias, and paid leave. She advances SHRM’s voice through leadership roles and global coalitions on talent mobility and the future of work, and serves with USCIB, The Bryce Harlow Foundation, SkillUp Coalition, and the National Foundation for Women Legislators. She is Immediate Past Chair of the NCCU Board of Trustees and a life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha. Dickens holds degrees from North Carolina Central University and its School of Law.
