Artificial Intelligence (AI) is quickly embedding itself in our lives and will be a seamless part of our future. The potential reward makes AI irresistible to employers. While AI holds tremendous opportunity for improving HR decision-making and efficiency, it poses serious threats to the organization if not carefully monitored and managed. This presentation will primarily focus on the basic applications of AI and the legal and practical risks/benefits of using AI in HR.

Brian Marentette
Director, People Insights at Berkshire Associates
Brian Marentette, Ph.D. specializes in research and statistical methods related to equal employment opportunity compliance in employee hiring, promotion, termination, and compensation decisions in high-stakes settings. Over the last 17+ years, he has consulted to organizations with national and global footprints in some of the most high-stakes, litigious environments to develop and defend more than 100 personnel selection systems. Dr. Marentette has also provided litigation support to numerous organizations as they worked with the U.S. Department of Justice through consent decrees resulting from discrimination in past hiring and promotional practices, as well as DOL audit support to dozens of clients. In his current role as Director of People Insights at Berkshire Associates, Dr. Marentette leads their job analysis, test validation, pay equity, and broader EEO compliance analytics.
